Living Water Free Methodist Church is “Methodist” because our heritage can be traced back to the Methodist revival in England during the middle 1700’s. It is “Free” because the founders of our denomination in 1860 wanted to emphasize certain basic freedoms found in the scriptures:

• Freedom in worship – so deadening formalism can be avoided

• Freedom of the Holy Spirit – so the Holy Spirit can actively move

• Freedom from discrimination against the poor – so everyone can be involved in church

• Freedom and openness in relationships and loyalties – so laity can be involved at every level of decision making in the church

• Freedom from materialism – so the less affluent can be effectively  ministered to

• Freedom from slaveholding – so every person can exercise their right to be free
